Title: Taxonomical and faunistical novelties of the Opiinae in the Arctogaea (Hymenoptera, Braconidae)

Abstract: Forty-nine species of the genera Ademon Haliday, Austroopius Szépligeti, Biosteres Förster, Diachasma Förster, Hoplocrotaphus Telenga and Opius Wesmael are reported from the Arctogaea (39 from the Palearctic Region, 7 from the Nearctic Region and 3 from the Oriental Region), of which 5 species are new to science: Opius (Pendopius) sp. n. (USA), O. (Opius) mendus sp. n. (Afghanistan), O. (Allophlebus) tarni sp. n. (USSR), O.(Uetes) tolerans sp. n. (India) and O.(Stomosema) ziratus sp. n. (Germany). The great majority of the known species are new to the fauna of the countries in respect. The material documenting the novelties is deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; specimens from the Instytut Zoologii (Warszawa) are indicated.Subject: entomology
