Abstract: Moina salina Daday, 1888 was collected in a highly sodic pan in Hungary. This species is new to the Hungarian fauna. It is a halobiont species with a wide range of salinity tolerance, but was not known to occur in sodic waters. The Hungarian locality is characterized by great salinity as well as high alkalinity.
