Abstract: Among his contemporaries Andreas Wolny was on friendly terms with Paul Kitaibel. In his herbarium several new species can be seen in statu nascendi. The specimens originating from the Hort. Bot. Univ. Pest. are of outstanding value. Wolny was in contact with several botanists; in addition to the herbarium, his correspondence and manuscripts also represent important data sources. Wolny's herbarium was highly respected by the later botanists Viktor Janka, Vince Borbás and Sándor Jávorka. With 15 figures.Subject: museology
