Abstract: Diplochasma (Sauteromyia) albomarginata sp. n. (widespread in the Afrotropics), D. (S.) aphaniosignata sp. n. (Uganda, Mozambique, South Africa), D. (S.) clara sp. n. (South Africa), D. (S.) occidentalis sp. n. (Ghana), D. (S.) punctata sp. n. (central and southern Africa), D. (S.) shewelli sp. n. (Uganda), D. (S.) stuckenbergi sp. n. (Madagascar) and D. (S.) variegata sp. n. (eastern, central and southern Africa) are described. A redefinition of the subgenus is given and a key is presented for the identification of the species (all new) from the sub-Saharan Africa.
