Abstract: The generic names Jagiello BÁLINT et WOJTUSIAK, 2000 and Trochusinus JOHNSON, SALAZAR et VÉLEZ, 1997 are reinstated from the synonymy of Timaeta JOHNSON, KRUSE et KROENLEIN, 1997 on the basis of unique characters. The hitherto unknown female of Timaeta christina ROBBINS et BUSBY, 2008 is characterized and illustrated. A new species, Jagiello boyeropampa sp. n., is described from southern Peru. A key for identification of species of Timaeta and Jagiello is presented. The diagnostic characters of Jagiello, Timaeta and Trochusinus are discussed, the character states are tabulated, and a new concept is proposed for their recognition resulting in eight new nomenclatural combinations: Trochusinus aepea (HEWITSON, 1874) comb. n., T. cospata (ROBBINS et BUSBY, 2008) comb. n., T. gabriela (BUSBY et ROBBINS, 2008) comb. n., T. matthewi (BUSBY et ROBBINS, 2008) comb. n., T. pilosa (ROBBINS et BUSBY, 2008) comb. n., T. roberti (BUSBY et ROBBINS, 2008) comb. n., T. romero (ROBBINS et BUSBY, 2008) comb. n. and T. walteri (BUSBY et ROBBINS, 2008) comb. n. With 32 figures and one table. Keywords: new species, new combination, reinstated generic names, female phenotype, character, taxonomic diversity, systematic uniformity
