Abstract: The small cupolate solitary coral Asteroseris is reported from Late Valanginian to Hauterivian marls from the Bersek Hill (Gerecse Mountains, Northern Hungary). The material is poorly preserved and the taxonomic assignation is diffi cult. The present fi ndings indicate the earliest occurrence of the genus and family. With 3 figures.
