Abstract: Two species of the white-toothed shrews (Crocidura kornfeldi Kormos, 1934 and Crocidura obtusa Kretzoi, 1938) were found in the late Early Pleistocene vertebrate fauna of the Somssich Hill 2 locality. Most of the specimens could not be identifi ed at the species level, therefore they are described here as Crocidura sp. indet. (kornfeldi or obtusa). Detailed morphological and morphometrical analyses were made on the remains of the two species. The biostratigraphical and palaeoecological relations of their occurrence are also given. With 14 fi gures and 5 tables. Keywords: Early Pleistocene, Soricidae, Somssich Hill, Crocidura kornfeldi, Crocidura obtusa
