Abstract: In this paper summary is given on the results of zooplankton research on the River Tisza and its tributaries, and on the Transdanubian watercourses. In the period of 1992-1994 altogether 43 Hungarian streams were investigated at 103 sampling sites, 259 Rotatoria, 47 Cladocera and 17 Copepoda taxa were recorded. Attached fauna list contains species occurrence data, faunistic and ecological evaluation is focussed on the River Tisza. Our studies revealed the occurrence of 19 Rotatoria species new to the fauna of Hungary.
