Abstract: Census data of fifteen duck species and the Bean Goose (Anser fabalis) were collected in the Balaton area in 1986. Total number of the six most numerous duck species exceeded 37.000 specimens. The most numerous duck species with their peak numbers were the following: Aythya fuligula (27.483), Aythya ferina (8243), and Anas platyrhynchos (2787).Keywords: Lake Balaton, Anatidae, waterfowl census
