Abstract: The third part of the series continues the area-geographic elaboration of the mosses in the Carpathians
and the Carpathian Basin. Six genera of the family Mniaceae (Mnium, Cinclidium, Rhizomnium, Cyrtomnium, Plagiomnium, Pseudobryum) are discussed. A brief phytogeographical evaluation are given on the basis of world distribution, climatic character, ecological character, literature and herbarial data, and the cor responding areal maps. The present distribution of Plagiomnium ellipticum Brid., incompletely known in the whole region, was established during the elaboration of the material. A number of new data were also established with respect of some interesting and rare species.Subject: botany
