Abstract: Six species new for science, i.e. Aspicilia pseudoabbasiana, A. pseudovulcanica, A. subepiglypta, A. subgeographica, A. subgoettweigensis, and A. submamillata, are described, illustrated and compared with closely related taxa. A new name Aspicilia abbasiana (for Aspicilia volcanica) and a new combination Rimularia geumodoensis (for Aspicilia geumodoensis) are proposed. Aspicilia cf. pacifica, Buellia coniops, Circinaria contorta, C. leprosescens, Lichenostigma bolacinae, Phaeospora peregrina, and Rosellinula frustulosae are reported for the first time for Korea. A preliminary key to the identification of aspicilioid taxa in the Eastern Asian region is provided.
Keywords: molecular phylogeny, Circinaria, ITS nrDNA, Rimularia
