Abstract: During investigation of the bryophyte flora formed on igneous rocks enriched in metals, we identified a total of 183 bryophyte taxa (one hornwort, 33 liverworts, and 149 mosses). Nine taxa (two liverworts and 7 mosses) have been reported for the first time from Bulgaria, namely Ric¬cia michelii, Targionia lorbeeriana, Didymodon nicholsonii, D. tophaceus subsp. erosus, Epipterygium tozeri, Orthotrichum schimperi, Lewinskya acuminata, Schistidium dupretii, and Scorpiurium sendt¬neri. Two species (Philonotis calcarea and Syntrichia subpapillosissima) are included in the European bryophyte red list in the NT and DD category, respectively. Twenty-seven species (6 liverworts and 21 mosses) have conservation importance based on recent knowledge on their distribution and threats affecting them in Bulgaria and neighbouring countries.
